Privacy policy
Last updated 17 September 2026
Sylex Design is run by Sam Dallas, trading as Sylex Design, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal information collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy, email contact@sylexdesign.com.
What we collect
The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us through the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your business name (optional)
- The message you write
When you submit the form, your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions and protect the form from abuse. It is held in memory for a short period and is not stored or linked to your enquiry.
If you email or call us directly, we will hold the details you provide in the same way as a form enquiry.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project, prepare a proposal and, if you become a client, deliver the work and manage our working relationship. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
Our lawful basis for this is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is delivered to our inbox by email. To do that we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes form submissions.
- Resend — delivers the form submission to us as an email.
- Google Workspace — provides our email mailbox.
These providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent safeguards. We do not share your information with anyone else unless we are required to by law.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third party.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to a project, we keep the correspondence for up to twelve months in case you come back to it, then delete it. If you become a client, we keep project correspondence and records for as long as we need to support the work, and financial records for the period required by UK tax law.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it
- Ask for your information in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email contact@sylexdesign.com. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
